Video Games Are Fun

So I've been playing this game called Guitar Hero for a while. It's fun. Very fun. I've been playing the second installment a lot in anticipation for the 80's Edition that comes out next Tuesday. I've been trying to 5 star every song in the game, including the bonus songs, and it has been difficult. For those of you who don't know, getting 5 stars on a song is the highest rating you can achieve, and it's not easy.

So anyway I says to Mabel, I says, the last song that I had left to 5 star is called Jordan and it's played by this freak called Buckethead. He really is a freak, he plays guitar like a robut and wears a plain white mask and a bucket of KFC on his head. After many many tries I finally achieved 5 star status last night. Thank you, thank you.

Yeah I know it's only a video game but it's fun and it was hard and it felt good so there.

By the way I know some of you need proof so I included a screenshot. If you doubt the authenticity look at the name of the band, my brothers will testify.

More Than Meets The Eye

Well I saw Transformers the other day. I have to say it was awesome. I had a blast. I went into the theatre with low expectations and came out impressed. This is what a summer film is supposed to be, lots of cool imagery, some jokes thrown in, gigantic robots causing chaos, and just thoroughly entertaining. I know the film has been bashed by a lot of fanboys, but that's just cause they were wanting it to be something it's not. They wanted the movie to be a grown-up version of the cartoon and it's not. Which is fine with me. This film isn't trying to make cinematic history here. If you want a great plot with plenty of character development and a deep, sociological message than stay at home and rent Citizen Kane.

As far as staying true to the original cartoon, well it wasn't 100% accurate, no movie based on a comic or cartoon ever is, but it wasn't that far off either. If you are a fan of the cartoon than you're going to recognize the characters and most of them do act like they did in the cartoon. Casting the original voice of Optimus Prime was essential and really did a lot to remind you of the original. ILM did a sensational job with the effects. You're not going to sit there and think the robots are obviously not real, they did a good job of making it seem like they were really there and interacting with the people and environments. Like I said, it's a fun movie. If you go in there ready to criticize every last detail then you're gonna have a bad time. The bottom line is that if you wanna have fun then you're gonna have fun. So go see it. I'm definitely gonna see it again.
